A virtual support group for parents or carers with children who have a special educational need or disability.

Thursday Mornings 10.30-11.30am. 

  • A free online support group facilitated by Sandy and Biggleswade Children’s Centre, to share experiences with other parents and carers in a similar situation

  •  A chance to speak to professionals from the CDC, Early Years Support Team, Speech and Language plus more

Baby Brasserie 

Alison/Shelly are running our brasserie session virtual via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday afternoons 1-3pm to offer support for breastfeeding mums and mums to be. Please contact Alison on alison.coats@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk or shelly.collins@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk to be invited along to the session.

Sarah banks is also running an online brasserie on Wednesday afternoons so please contact nctsarahbanks@gmail.com.  

Baby Sign

A three week course designed to introduce you and your baby to signing in a supportive virtual group session. 

Suitable for families with babies 0-1 years old. 

The next course begins on 

Tuesday 4th May 10.30-11.30am.

Baby Wriggle and Jiggle

Kirsty is running a fun online singing session for babies and young children on a Thursday afternoon from 1pm.

Bumps, Birth and Baby Stuff

Here at the Children's Centre run antenatal classes virtually via Microsoft Teams alongside the Baby Friendly Team. These classes are run on a Thursday afternoon 1.30pm - 3pm for four weeks.

If you are unable to attend a Bumps, birth and Baby stuff (BBBS)  with our Children's Centre, there are other Centres in Central Bedfordshire running BBBS on different dates and times so please get in touch so we can help you find the most appropriate session for you.

Baby Days

Baby days is a virtual four week course for new parents and babies 0-3 months that covers: Sleep, feeding, brain development and childhood illnesses. 

Courses run on Wednesday afternoons for four weeks and the next courses are starting on:

  • 24th March 1.30-2.30pm

  • 28th April 1.30-2.30pm

  • 10th June 10-11am

Starting solids

'I Just wanted to thank you for today's talk, it was really helpful and nice to know that it's completely normal to not have a clue!  Looking forward to that new chapter in a month or so.'

Alison and Kirsty are running online starting solids talks to offer advice and support around starting solids with your 6 month old baby.

These sessions run monthly on Monday and Friday mornings.

Parents and First Teachers

Parents as First Teachers (PaFT) is 

is a voluntary, early intervention programme for parents of children pre-birth to three years of age. 


Parents as First Teachers goals are to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices.

Intentions of PaFT Programme: 

  • Parent child interaction, Child Development, Parenting Behaviours.

  • Development centered parenting – attachment, sleep, safety, health, nutrition, discipline, transitions.

  • Family well-being – Goal setting, resourcing and family needs, mental health, relationships.
