Baby Brasserie 

Jade is running our Sandy brasserie session at Sandy Children's Centre on Tuesday mornings 11-12.30pm to offer support for breastfeeding mums and mums to be. Please contact Jade to find out more or drop into the session. 

 

Jade is running our Biggleswade Brasserie session at Biggleswade Children's Centre on Thursday afternoons 1.30-3pm. Please contact Jade for more information or drop into the session.

Baby Massage

A four week course designed to introduce you and your baby to the wonderful benefits of baby massage, in a calm and supportive environment. 

​

Suitable for families with babies 0-6 months old. 

​

There is a fee of £20 to secure your place for baby massage.

Starting solids

Alison and Kirsty are running online and face to face starting solids talks to offer advice and support around starting solids with your 6 month old baby.

These sessions run monthly on a Friday afternoon 1.30-2.30pm.

Dad's Club

Dad's Club is run from Robert Peel Primary School in their Forest School Garden once a month.

​

 Rhyme Time

Baby Rhyme Time is a fun singing session for babies 0-12 months on a Thursday afternoon 1.30-2.00pm at Biggleswade Children's Centre within Biggleswade Library.

No need to book, just turn up.

Our first session back after the Summer holidays will be 12th September.

Bumps, Birth and Baby

Here at the Children's Centre we run antenatal classes in person and virtually via Microsoft Teams alongside the Baby Friendly Team. 

​

If you are 32+ weeks pregnant please register on Eventbrite to book your free space.

​

Please note that booking doesn't open until two months prior to the course start date.

​​​​​

If you are unable to attend a Bumps, birth and Baby (BBB)  with our Children's Centre, there are other Centres in Central Bedfordshire running BBB on different dates and time.

Baby Days

Baby days runs for 6 weeks in both Sandy and Biggleswade. Baby days is a lovely course for new parents and babies 0-3 months that covers: Sleep, feeding, brain development and childhood illnesses.

Baby Self Weigh 

New drop in sessions for self weigh from April 2024…

​

Sandy Children's Centre - 12noon – 3pm on 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

Biggleswade Children's Centre - 9am-12noon on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. 

No appointment needed.

​

Self weigh will also be available when attending sessions at the Children’s Centres in both Biggleswade and Sandy.

​

How often should my baby be weighed?

After the first 2 weeks, your baby should be weighed:

  • no more than once a month up to 6 months of age

  • no more than once every 2 months from 6 to 12 months of age

  • no more than once every 3 months over the age of 1

​

Your baby will usually only be weighed more often than this if you ask for it or if there are concerns about their health or growth.

​

Parents and First Teachers

Parents as First Teachers (PaFT) is 

is a voluntary, early intervention programme for parents of children pre-birth to three years of age. 

 

Parents as First Teachers goals are to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices.

​

Intentions of PaFT Programme: 

  • Parent child interaction, Child Development, Parenting Behaviours.

  • Development centered parenting – attachment, sleep, safety, health, nutrition, discipline, transitions.

  • Family well-being – Goal setting, resourcing and family needs, mental health, relationships.

​

​

First Aid for Parents

We are running introduction to first aid sessions in Sandy for parents/carers on Saturday mornings.

This course is really great and informative.

There is a small fee of £10 per adult for the course.
